Youth Workshop! The Public Platform: Stencils and Street Art

$40-65 (sliding scale), ages 12-18
In this workshop we will take reference from the world of street art. We will take control of our own visual environment and examine both sanctioned and unsanctioned 2-d art in the public sphere. Participants will learn several techniques for producing a graphic message including spray painting with stencils and screen-printing with mud. Students will also collaboratively conceptualize and execute a public mural. Ringleader: John Engelbrecht

Bookbinding workshops in May!


IMG_3476-1Join us Thursday nights (6-8p) in May for a series of bookbinding workshops.
These workshops focus on book structures that are suited to printmakers and other 2D artists but are open to anyone. Each week will feature a different structure and its variations. Basic materials are included, but participants are encouraged to bring materials (prints, scraps, drawings) to make into books.
May 7: drum-leaf/board book
May 14: accordion book
May 21: coptic/link stitch
May 28: stab binding

$25 per session, or $80 for the full series paid in advance

Silkscreen workshop April 18-19

Join us for a two-afternoon silkscreen workshop April 18-19, 1-4pm!

$75 including materials
Learn the basics of screenprinting and complete your own small-run, 1- or 2-color print. This workshop will allow participants to bring their own ideas/content and learn how to translate them into a screenprint. All materials including white paper to print on are provided. Participants are welcome to bring other materials to try printing on.
This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those familiar with basic screenprinting who would like guidance in completing a project.
